Our Progress

Examining The Need At The Local Level

Aug 10, 2025 – We met with health officials in Kampot Province Cambodia to learn about the needs at the local level.

Local health officials expressed that the primary needs at the provincial level are Diagnostic and screening capabilities for detection of women's cancers.  Mammography machines, laboratory diagnostic machines, testing supplies, and patient education materials are needed.  Screening is performed at the National Hospitals.  By the time patients are referred to the National hospitals, their Cancer is often stage 3 or 4.   In many cases these advanced Cancers are not treatable.  The health officials would like to shift detection to stage 1 and 2 to allow for successful treatment.
